Due Diligence for Angel Groups
Does your Angel Group need help evaluating a potential investment opportunity? We can assist by conducting Due Diligence and creating Deal Memos on early stage investment opportunities.
As experienced leaders in the Angel investing space, we are familiar with the work required to perform thoughtful Due Diligence on early stage companies. Kelsey August, Founder of DealFlowNow, is a serial entrepreneur and super angel investor with over 7 years of experience on the Investment Committee for the Central Texas Angel Network (CTAN). In that role, Kelsey played a vital role in Due Diligence work that helped secure tens of millions of dollars for dozens of companies. Kelsey also served as the Board Chair of CTAN from 2019-2022.
Victoria Dominguez-Edington, Director of Operations, brings to the table several years of experience running and managing an Angel Group. As Program Director of CTAN, Victoria led and participated in the Due Diligence process. She played a key role in the creation of Deal Memos for Startups seeking funding from Investors.
Our deep understanding of the Angel investing space enables us to supplement and streamline the Due Diligence process . Let us take the headache out of evaluating startups for your Angel Group.
What is included in the Deal Memo?
Our Standard Deal Memo examines the company in detail by looking into 6 key areas of the business. We then produce a comprehensive report that is approximately 20-25 pages long that outlines our findings after evaluating the venture. It typically takes an average of 10 business days to complete.
The Deal Memo opens with an Executive Summary of the overall investment opportunity. The following 6 areas will then be investigated by our team in collaboration with the executive team of the company:
- Team
- Product & Technology
- Competition
- Market Opportunity & Sales Strategy
- Exit Potential
- Financials
Once the Deal Memo is completed, we can also feature the startup’s raise on the DealFlowNow platform, which gives them free visibility to other potential Investors around the United States.
What if we don’t need a full Deal Memo written?
No problem! If your group does not need a comprehensive Deal Memo, we can still assist by examining a specific aspect of the venture for you.
Often times, there is enough interest in a deal to warrant further Due Diligence within an Angel Group, but that interest means nothing if there are not enough volunteers to actually complete the work of bringing the Deal Memo to life. We have the background and expertise to fill in those gaps to ensure the Deal Memo is produced so that the right deals aren’t missed due to lack of participation.
Need a fractional Due Diligence officer? We can step in and supplement your group’s Due Diligence efforts.
